DAY 2

zekne, Lithuania

Lakes and unpaved roads; this is Rezekne in eastern Lithuania. Although World War II destroyed the most part of the ancient buildings in Rezekne, many of them have been rebuilt and are worth visiting. This hidden pearl of the east is one of the safest and tidiest places you will visit, but also contains riches in terms of history. In fact, Rezekne is called the heart of Latgale, the capital of culture. This is where Latgalian, Russian, Polish and Ukrainian cultures are flourishing even today. In other words, it's perfect for something that money can't buy; an authentic feel of Eastern culture.
