Cool stuff to see in Tallinn include the Seaplane Harbour - an ultra-modern maritime and military museum. For a fun day out with a touch of history and architecture, visit the Kadriorg baroque palace, KUMU Art Museum and the Japanese Garden at Kadriorg Park. Click here to see more.

Day 4

Toila to Sillamäe, about 22 km

Sillamäe, an industrial city that was established in 1946, was home to the Sillamäe metallurgy plant. Today, with its parkways and museums, the city is a good architectural representation of the age of Stalin in Estonia.

Sillamäe to Narva-Jõesuu and Narva, about 26 km

Right at the Estonian-Russian border, on one side of a large river, lies Estonia’s easternmost town, Narva. There is lots for visitors to do – tourists can admire the preserved Hermann Fortress or relax at the sandy beach, while staying in one of Narva-Jõesuu’s wonderful spas. The first spa was opened during the 19th century and began a tradition that lasts to this day.

Narva is home to both Estonian and Russian cultures. During WWII, the town was heavily damaged and most of its Baroque architecture was destroyed. Today, Narva combines modern architecture, such as Narva College’s buildings, with the architecture of the Soviet-era.

Camping suggestion: Alutaguse Rest and Fitness Center

Day 5

Alutaguse to Kuremäe Monastery, about 18 km

Kuremäe to Kohtla Mining Park Museum about 38 km

A walk around the reopened Kohtla Mining Park Museum reminds people of former times. The entire museum has a unique atmosphere, as people are able to see and feel some of the things real miners did. One of the most interesting places is the 1 km long underground museum. The underground museum gives visitors a chance to experience the life of a miner. People put on helmets and wear miner lights as they descend up to 8 meters underground.  Camping suggestion: Tamme Caravan Park
